Fiddle & Fettle's Building a Website Guide

Maintenance & Support

After my website is designed, built, upload and live there's nothing more to do right?

Unfortunately no. All websites require some level of ongoing maintenance. No matter if you have self built or used a Designer the following will all at some point need attention.

There's no need to panic if you feel you're not that tech savvy or you don't have extra time in your schedule. Most web design agencies offer on going support care packages of some sort. Allowing you the freedom to carry on running your business. With the peace of mind that these tasks are being taken care of.

What these support packages offer and their costs will differ from one agency to another.

Tom's Website

Because Tom's new website is designed and built by Fiddle and Fettle. He will receive FREE support for the first 2 months after it's launch date. Which is a great weight off his mind as he's currently busy getting his new shop and bakery ready to open.

When launched Tom's website will need only minimal maintenance for now. As it is a small static marketing site which he only intends to make seasonal changes to. With this in mind I have set out a proposed yearly plan that will give him 15 hours of support and maintenance. This includes 12 hours of general maintenance and site updates (= 1 hr per month). Plus 3 hours to cover any urgent site issues.

Tom is very happy with this. Especially as any unused time in a month will roll over to the next within that plans 12 months lifetime. Plus if he doesn't use the 3 additional hours before the end he will receive a discount on his next 12 month plan. He also knows that he can increase the number of hours in his support and maintenance plan at anytime if needed.
